We were lucky enough to spend a day with Francesca - exploring Tuscan villages and wineries. It was the highlight of our time in Italy. She is incredibly generous with her knowledge and time and arranged the most wonderful winery tours. I would recommend a tour with Francesca to all those visiting Tuscany. Thank you so much for an amazing day. Kaela & Damon

Our three couples visited Siena for the first time and stayed in the apartment. The apartment was perfect for the six of us. Two balconies where we watched the sunset and BBQ our meals. Plenty of room and fully equipped with everything you could want. It is close to and in walking distance of restaurants, shopping and the old city.
We had asked Francesca to show us Tuscany, some wineries and olive oil manufacturers. The tour she prepared was exceptional. While we headed towards Montepulciano she gave us a history of the area. Her knowledge is amazing. In each of the towns we visited she shared the historical significance. She arranged lunch for us at one of the Wineries - La Palazzetta in Montalcino. Lunch was an understatement. Mama prepared a feast which we could not finish. Wines were exceptional.
We covered so much of Tuscany that day and gained so much knowledge of the area, the people and the wines that we cannot cover it all. Needless to say it’s a day we will never forget.

My wife and I and two other couples booked Francesca for tours of Siena, Montalcino and Pienza, plus a cooking class with her (and her delightful mother, Anna) during our week in the Siena area and stayed in her beautiful renovated farmhouse about five minutes from Siena's historic center. This woman is incredible - her English is excellent, and her knowledge of Tuscany is encyclopedic. She is warm, friendly, funny, and took us to local restaurants, wineries, and a cheese farm in Pienza that we would never have found on our own. On our first night there, we arranged for her to cook us a traditional four-course Tuscan dinner since it was the birthday of one of our group. Not only was the meal itself superb (better than what we had in restaurants in Florence), but she prepared a birthday cake complete with candles and a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday." Our only regret is that we did not hire her to come to Florence and do tours for us during our 3-day stay there (which she will do). Even if you decide not to book one of her properties for your stay, book Francesca for tours. I don't think you will find a better tour guide anywhere in the world. Mille grazie, Francesca, for what ranks as our most memorable vacation ever.

September 2017
Our girlfriends trip to Italy ended with a tour of Florence with Francesca. Not only was she a delightful guide, but her knowledge and obvious love for all this beautiful city has to offer made our day truly memorable. We loved her! And we learned so much more than we would have without her guidance. We left wishing we had booked her for other tours as well. Earlier during our stay, we also had the privilege of meeting Francesca's Aunt Lina, at whose beautiful villa, Casa Gaia, we stayed for several days. If you are planning a trip to Italy, we highly recommend all Best of Mas has to offer.

As two couples we booked the apartment in Siena which was very comfortable. Our son and his wife also visited Siena and with them we have an amazing wine tour day. Francesca was so knowledgeable about the history of Tuscany, architecture and wine. The 2 wineries we visited we very generous with their time and we felt we learn a lot about viticulture in Tuscany; as well as sampling excellent wines. The tours we private and personable. Our lunch on the produce of the family- e.g. tomatoes, zucchini, and local cheeses and ham were delicious.
I highly recommend Francesca's tour. It was an amazing experience, the best tour we had in Italy

We visited Italy for the first time in August 2016. For 6 days of our trip we stayed in beautiful Siena. We were lucky to have stayed in the penthouse owned by Francesca Vigni. It was in the perfect location because we could walk to the piazza and to the train and bus station. Francesca was the perfect hostess.

Our favorite part of the entire Italy trip was our day touring with Francesca. She picked us up at the penthouse and we talked the whole way to our first stop, Pienza. Francesca's knowledge of architecture, art, history, and wine made everything so much more interesting. But above all that, she's just a really lovely person who wants to make sure you have the best day possible. We then continued on our journey to Montepulciano where we had out first wine tasting. We loved the wine and chatting with Serena. We will definitely be ordering wine from there. We had lunch and more wine tasting and learned new things from Francesca about wine and how it pairs with certain food. We ended the day with another wine and olive oil tasting. Out of everything we did in Italy, our day with Francesca was the most special. We felt like friends by the time the day was over. I would highly recommend a tour with her - you won't be disappointed!

We were in Italy this same week last year and as I reflect on our time there some of the best parts of our trip were because of Francesca. We stayed at the apartment in Siena, and this was no apartment by any stretch of the means. It was the penthouse with so much room, and views to die for. When we would sit out on the balcony in the evenings watching the sunset i felt like I was staring a a postcard. Picture perfect. The apartment had everything we needed, we were a family of 4, my husband and myself our our teen boys, ages 13 and 16. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, and everyone had plenty of space. One of the highlights of our trip was the day we spent with Francesca and the tour she personally created for us. We still talk about that day as one of the most memorable from our trip. Francesca created a custom tour for us, and it was so enjoyable. She picked us up at the apartment and we visited two amazing hill towns and two wineries. Frances is an architect by trade so she was able to share so much of her knowledge with us regarding the buildings in the area. Additionally she knows her history and was able to provide all kinds of facts to us about each of the towns and surrounding areas. The wine tours were private and each very different. One being very old school, with casks that were 600 years old and still in use and the other the epitome of modern winemaking but still based on traditional principles. The bonus to the wine tour was learning about olive oil and the museum housed on the grounds of the winery. My kids (and my husband) enjoyed seeing a private car collection as well. We couldn't have asked for a more amazing day than the one we spent with Francesca. We never felt rushed and we saw so much that day. We reflect often on that day with fond memories. We learned and we laughed and most importantly we left with Francesca as a friend. We wholeheartedly recommend any of the services Francesca can provide. I look forward to seeing Francesca again when we next return to Italy.!

Ahhh, Siena and the surrounding hill towns of Tuscany! What a wonderful and glorious destination to which we planned a two week trip with two other couples where we girls celebrated our 70th birthdays. It was made all the better by meeting Francesca Vigni and staying in her restored farm house where life was good and comfortable. Sitting out back with a cup of coffee overlooking the vineyards in the quiet early mornings was heavenly.

Francesca is a tour guide everyone should use when they visit Siena. She was so accommodating to our every need, even loaning us her cell phone with which to reach her if needed without incurring any charges. We told her in advance what we hoped to do while there and she made arrangements and reservations per our requests. In addition, Francesca accompanied us on several excursions to places we probably would not have thought of, all the while explaining the history of and the passion for Siena and Tuscany. With her best friend, Barbara, we even had a cooking lesson on how to make homemade pastas. We also had the pleasure of dining in her husband, Francesco's, restaurant.

To have a true Sienese as our tour guide was in and of itself an added bonus. We felt the love and passion she had for her Siena and it showed in her ability to instill in us the interest and same sense of passion as she felt. To travel to Siena/Tuscany and have Francesca Vigni as your tour guide and rental property owner would be the best travel decision you'll make. Make your plans now!

This family trip to Italy with our three children, their spouses and significant others and one grandson was to celebrate my 65th birthday. While we did not stay at one of Francesca's properties we had the pleasure of booking a winery tour with her in the Montalcino area. She picked us up near Siena and drove us to Montalcino, where she had arranged tours of two of her favorite wineries and a lunch at the Montalcino Fortezza with more wine tasting. On the drive to and from Montalcino she provided non-stop fascinating commentary on the countryside and all things Italian. She has a sparkling and helpful personality. Her passion for Tuscany (and wine) was infectious. The tour was one of the highlights of our whole trip.
Our interaction with Francesca did not end with that day. She continued to provide advice and help when we emailed her with questions through the remainder of our trip.
When we return to Tuscany (which we hope to do in the years to come) I will be sure to contact Francesca, for tours and perhaps to rent one of her properties. I cannot imagine a more accommodating hostess. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting the Siena area.

This trip to Tuscany was to celebrate my 70th birthday with my two jr high/high school friends who also have reached 70. We have been friends for 55+ years and we were celebrating our friendship as well. Of course, our wonderful husbands were with us.

We got lost immediately trying to drive to Francesca's property. We called her and she came to guide us to our villa where we would stay for 2 weeks. This was the beginning of just how accommodating she was the whole 2 weeks we were her guests. She provided us with an Italian cell phone so that we could text/call her at any time and also use the Google maps to help guide us so that we did not have to use our own phones.

The property where we stayed was comfortable with a postcard view of the valley. Quiet and peaceful, we woke to the chirping birds each day.

She helped us plan our whole itinierary prior to our ever arriving and was our guide for two excursions and hosted a cooking class for us. Her knowledege and passion for Siena and Tuscany and her archetectural background made all of our hilltown visits more meaningful. Our cooking class was fun and delicious. Of course, we only helped make the pasta; Francesca and her friend Barbara really made the rest of the meal which was exquisite. Our table was set with candles and lovely place settings and we felt quite pampered.

We also had the opportunity to dine at Francesco's restaurant which was a great local experience.

I can't say enough about this experience and how much Francesca's personal touch added to our enjoyment of our two weeks. Her warmth, sense of humor, and sharing of herself is unsurpassed from any experience we have had in all our travels.

We look forward to seeing her again at some point, either in Italy or in Florida.
