This family trip to Italy with our three children, their spouses and significant others and one grandson was to celebrate my 65th birthday. While we did not stay at one of Francesca's properties we had the pleasure of booking a winery tour with her in the Montalcino area. She picked us up near Siena and drove us to Montalcino, where she had arranged tours of two of her favorite wineries and a lunch at the Montalcino Fortezza with more wine tasting. On the drive to and from Montalcino she provided non-stop fascinating commentary on the countryside and all things Italian. She has a sparkling and helpful personality. Her passion for Tuscany (and wine) was infectious. The tour was one of the highlights of our whole trip.
Our interaction with Francesca did not end with that day. She continued to provide advice and help when we emailed her with questions through the remainder of our trip.
When we return to Tuscany (which we hope to do in the years to come) I will be sure to contact Francesca, for tours and perhaps to rent one of her properties. I cannot imagine a more accommodating hostess. I highly recommend her to anyone visiting the Siena area.

This trip to Tuscany was to celebrate my 70th birthday with my two jr high/high school friends who also have reached 70. We have been friends for 55+ years and we were celebrating our friendship as well. Of course, our wonderful husbands were with us.

We got lost immediately trying to drive to Francesca's property. We called her and she came to guide us to our villa where we would stay for 2 weeks. This was the beginning of just how accommodating she was the whole 2 weeks we were her guests. She provided us with an Italian cell phone so that we could text/call her at any time and also use the Google maps to help guide us so that we did not have to use our own phones.

The property where we stayed was comfortable with a postcard view of the valley. Quiet and peaceful, we woke to the chirping birds each day.

She helped us plan our whole itinierary prior to our ever arriving and was our guide for two excursions and hosted a cooking class for us. Her knowledege and passion for Siena and Tuscany and her archetectural background made all of our hilltown visits more meaningful. Our cooking class was fun and delicious. Of course, we only helped make the pasta; Francesca and her friend Barbara really made the rest of the meal which was exquisite. Our table was set with candles and lovely place settings and we felt quite pampered.

We also had the opportunity to dine at Francesco's restaurant which was a great local experience.

I can't say enough about this experience and how much Francesca's personal touch added to our enjoyment of our two weeks. Her warmth, sense of humor, and sharing of herself is unsurpassed from any experience we have had in all our travels.

We look forward to seeing her again at some point, either in Italy or in Florida.

Francesca customized a day in the Tuscan countryside for our party of four, and we could not have asked for a better experience. She is professional, knowledgeable, patient, friendly, service-oriented, and a half-dozen more complimentary adjectives. She truly made us feel as though she was an old friend who was showing us around her beloved home town / region. I would unequivocally recommend her. As an aside, we did not rent our lodging from her (and our very pleased with our quarters), but I would absolutely choose to stay in one of her properties next time. Francesca, thank you for making our time in Siena so memorable.

Francesca organised a wonderful private tour for my husband and I when we were in Tuscany: it was absolutely perfect! She picked us up from the apartment in the morning and we went to a beautiful local bakery for a traditional coffee and a pastry. Throughout the day we visited 2 beautiful vineyards who produce the famous Brunello wine, one was a larger vineyard which produced a variety of types of wine and also olive oil and one was a very small family owned vineyard producing Brunello. At each one we tasted the wine, the olive oil and also small plates of antipasti, it was just perfect! Still by far the best wine we have ever tasted!! In between these vineyards Francesca took us to the beautiful town of Montalcino where she had organised a beautiful lunch at a traditional Tuscan restaurant. It was amazing and we were able to sample more of the lovely Brunello wine. We then had time to wander around the town and see the sights before the next vineyard. The best part of the tour organised by Francesca was the personal touch, as she drove us through beautiful Tuscany she was able to answer all our questions and teach us the history of the areas as we passed through. She is so knowledgeable and was able to give us an insight into the Tuscan culture and way of life. She also took extra time to take us to the ancient abbey church of Sant’Antimo which was fabulous and the scenery was absolutely stunning. At the end of the day we felt we had found a friend in Francesca and we hope to return to Tuscany soon to do another tour with her. I highly recommend Best of Mas Tours, you will not regret it! It was the highlight of our tour through Tuscany. Thanks Francesca, love Louise and Craig

Francesca was awesome. She spent the entire day with us driving around wine country. She arranged lunch, private tours, and had a wealth of information. On another evening, she and her Mother provided a cooking class for us and we had a fantastic meal.
I would rate Francesca 10 out of 10.

In our trip to Italy we met Francesca: all of us couldn't say enough about the day tour we took with her. Her enthusiasm about her beloved country was very evident. I highly recommend any of her tours. Anyone looking for tours in the Tuscany area please give Francesca an email or call. You won't be disappointed !!

I was fortunate enough to spend time in the Tuscany region in September. I stayed with my family (5 adults) in one of Francesca's properties. It was a wonderful experience. Francesca was only a phone call away to help us with anything we needed. We also went on a tour with Francesca and Francesco.
Francesca was very informative about the area with her background in architecture, wine and history of the region. We stopped at a hill town and went to two wineries. The day spent with this lovely couple was one of the highlights of our Italy vacation. Francesca and Francesco felt like friends by the end of our stay. I highly recommend any of the services that the "Best of Mas" has to offer.

My wife and I, (along with four of our friends), had the pleasure of spending a day with Francesca and her husband, Francesco. First, let it be known that these two wonderful people are not only amazing at what they do, but are filled with joy and a zest for life, which made our day fly by! We toured Tuscany, first stopping at a monastery, where Francesca filled us in on the long history. Then we left for Montepulciano, where we were given a private tasting and served a lovely lunch. The massive casks used to store the wines were a hundred feet (or more) below ground level, and an ancient burial cave had been found dating back to the Etruscan times. After lunch we had time to stretch our legs a bit, before piling back into the van for the ride to Montalcino! Here we went to Le Potazzine, where we had the most incredible tasting of our trip. Our host, Michele, spoke very good English, and his wit was put on display as soon as we arrived. "I have good news, and I have bad news", he said. "Today you drink the finest Brunello in Tuscany! That is the good news. However, you cannot buy it! We are sold out..." My wife replied, "Can you call us when you get some more?" Michele didn't hesitate, quickly saying, "No, but YOU can call me!" Our tour here was perfect, and the wines... Wow! We bought a case of what we could get, and had it shipped back to the US, and this went very smoothly. Finally, after a long and very lovely day, we were delivered back to our Villa, where we exchanged hugs with Francesca and Francesco. We will go back, and we will see them both again! We recommend their services without hesitation.

We were very fortunate to spend a full day with Francesca touring the wine regions. Our tour was informative, relaxing and fun!! She has so much knowledge and passion for the beautiful countryside, food, wine and history. She really wants your whole experience to be a good one!! I highly recommend taking a tour with her. We had a wonderful day and hope to do it again!

Spending the day with Francesca during our stay in Italy was one if the high points to our trip. She accommodated 12 of us with ease as she took us on an all day excursion that started in Siena. Francesca provided breakfast at a coffee bar that is popular with the locals. After filling our stomachs with delicious pastries, we departed for a scenic drive through the countryside that ended at a monastery. Here, we began with a tour of the buildings and ended with a wine tasting and olive oil tasting. During the tour, Francesca was very knowledgable on the history of the monastery and was able to add interesting side notes that made the tour much more enjoyable. Next, she drove us to the town of Montalcino where she arranged a spectacular lunch and wine pairing for us at La Vineria. Here, we ate a relaxing lunch and drank a few different delicious wines. After lunch we were able to explore Montalcino on our own and walk off some of the filling meal. The next stop was the best if the day. Tenuta Le Potazzine! At this vineyard we were introduced to some of the finest wines in all of Tuscany. We were treated to a very personal tour where we learned the differences in the grades of the Italian wines.

Our next trip to Italy will definitely include a day with Francesca exploring the Tuscan region. Yours should also.
